The following are personal comments, not meant to be included in your survey results: This year we had a LOT of trouble getting agility approved for our National. Since 1996 we've been holding an agility trial at our National, and usually it's an all-breed trial that makes money to help pay for everthing else. This year our Specialty Advisor and some of the Board thought an all-breed would take too much focus away from our Conformation activities. We struggled and ended up with a 1-day all-breed trial. We'd get about 15 Pulis entered in a Puli-only trial, and we'd have to work it ourselves. It is really easier doing an all-breed, where we find a local club to work it and share profits with them. But I suspect in the future we'll get agility approved only if we do the Puli-only version. I would love to see the results of your survey, and I wish you luck. Be aware that we are not doing this under the auspices of the PCA (Poodle Club of America) but just as interested poodle owners. We will send the results on to our parent club for their information to use as they deem fit. We will also send you the results of our poll if you are interested. Thank you so much for your time and your input. 1. Do you have an Annual National Specialty Show? YES 2. If so, where has it been held for the last five years? 03 Bardstown, KY, 02 St. Louis, MO, 01 Portland, OR, 00 Springfield, OH, 99 Hudson Valley, NY. Where will your next show be held? 04 St. Louis, MO 3. Do you offer performance events at this show? YES 4. If so, which ones and how many days are devoted to each event? i. Obedience Morning of Conformation events ii. Rally Obedience NO iii. Agility 1 day, after Conformation events iv. Field Trials NO v. Others (a) Specify Herding 1 day, after Conformation events 5. What type of membership do you offer i. Must be voted in for full membership YES, must be a resident of US or Canada, sponsored by two members and approved by the Board ii. Full membership (voting) YES(see above) and Associate (non-voting) YES(for "foreign" members) Note: the Board has had some discussions about proposing a change to the Constitution and Bylaws that would make all new members Associate/non-voting for 2 years or so. Prolific breeders often get new owners of their pet puppies to join and these often ask the breeder how to vote on judges, but otherwise don't participate in the club. If a way could be found to require active participation in the club before converting from Associate to Full member, that might be added to the language. However, these discussions have a long way to go, and of course AKC must approve, then the full membership. iii.Open membership (anyone can join and vote.)
